A big well done to RED who won the A4 Mc Cann cup race today. Unfortunately that moves him up to A3 level leaving me in the donkey group. But great result as he sprinted from approx 15th place to take the win. Well Done Bro........

Dear Gordie, the Tour of Down is indeed intended to be a tour; however this is our second year running the event which has attracted riders of various fitness levels some of which have used this is a kind of reliability run to benchmark them selves for next weeks up and coming Travers Engineering, Annaclone, road race. This is some thing that is very difficult to control. Next year the plan is to have two different groups with different courses, one of which will be 35 - 40 mile for the leisurely rider and the other as per Saturday past. That said the West Down Wheelers are very pleased with the turnout considering the very difficult weather conditions and would like to thank all those who both helped make it a successful and safe day and for all who took part.

o yea unfortunately we cannot tell any rider how to ride it,its up to themselves we can only say rem its a charity run ,riders we ride it to suit themselves not to suit somebody else.we are planning a shorter run for the more leisurely cyclist for next year, thanks to all who took part,it was a brutal headwind,
